news is, how it it gathered and how it is reported forms the basis
of this course which offers practice in news writing and editing.
Student work is used to positively affect the quality of Waldorf's
newspaper, The Lobbyist. |

Communications COM 220 (3 cr.) |
This
course attempts to boost the student's "visual literacy".
The emphasis will not be just on making things look good, but on communicating
through visual means. The course will give the student a grounding
in visual communication through theory, sharpen a critical eye in viewing
visual phenomena and provide skills in producing visuals. |

Practicum COM 280, 281, 282, 283 (.5 cr.) |
Offers authentic production experience and leadership training in one or more of the campus media – radio, video, newspaper, yearbook, and web design. Required of all mass communications majors. |
